Review of Purgatory Reign

Purgatory Reign
LM Preston
Phenomenal One Press 2012
ISBN 9780985025137

Peter Saints does not have a lot going for him. His parents are killed in front of him and then a young girl dies in his arms. He has lived for years with Pastor Finn in an orphanage of sorts.   He has visions and dreams that scare him to death. Peter is unsure as to their cause; but Pastor Finn is well aware of what is happening and  makes him go on the run to help save his life.
In his travels, he meets up with Angel and Kyle, and his life is never the same. In an attempt to unravel the mystery of what is happening, a great evil that the heavens attempted to hide has been unleashed. Will Peter be able to save the world from the terrible horrors that await or will it be too late?
This is an awesome young adult read that will surely please those who are into the fantasy with a touch of paranormal, horror, and mystery. The story is well written and flows smoothly from the beginning to the conclusion. I was not ready for it to end, but realized that this was just the beginning and will be anxiously awaiting the next one. Peter is my favorite character and he keeps the story moving. I have some misgivings about Angel, but will hold for further consideration. Kyle fits right in and compliments Peter nicely.
I have read several of this author's books and have to say this is my favorite one thus far. She has a way with words and draws you into the story line from the beginning. Her characters are real and personable with all the flaws that go along with being human. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story. It is a fast read and will keep your interest.
I was provided a copy from the publisher for reviewing purposes.

I give Purgatory Reign 5 out of 5 stars
