Review of Cat's Eyes

Cat's Eyes (Land of Miu)

Cat's Eyes Book 1
 The Land of Miu Series
Karen Lee Field
Kayelle Press Dec. 10,2010
Kindle Edition

Kate is a very unhappy twelve year old. Her mom has remarried and she now has a stepfather and a half-sister. Her mom knows she is unhappy and can't understand why. Kate is resentful of the whole situation but also feels guilty and jealous at the same time. She gets tired of her little sister and finds her a pest.
Emma wanders down a well following her two kittens and Kate goes after her. They end up in the tunnels of the Miu, an unknown place within lava tunnels of an extinct volcano. It turns out the kittens are actually a princess and her bodyguard who are on the run from some bad Miuans. Kate and Emma get pulled in to some dangerous situations and encounter some fantastical creatures along the way.
Kate learns alot on their journey and discovers what is truly important. Will she learn to love and accept what truly matters in life.
This is the first book in The Land of the Miu Series. This was an entertaining story full of imagination. The characters were quite colorful and the story was so descriptive that you could visualize them. The storyline flowed nicely and the scenes in the story just fell into place. Even though you could predict how the story would end, it did not end abruptly like so many novellas tend to do. It was an enjoyable read and I think young children would really enjoy it.
I was provided a copy free by the author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own. I was not compensated in any way except for the opportunity to read and review the book.

I give Cat's Eyes 4 out of 5 stars
