Review of Classic Revenge

Classic Revenge
A Silver Sleuths Mystery
Mitzi Kelly
ISBN 9780803477698

A tragic accident claims the life of Susan Wiley or so everyone thinks. Now, her husband, Sam,  is being charged with her murder. Their neighbors and dear friends Trish, Edna, and Millie try to convince the Chief of Police that he has the wrong man. He refuses to listen to reason because all evidence points to Sam being guilty. The friends will not give up so easily. They are determined to get to the bottom of the case and prove their friends innocence. The amateur sleuths plunge head long into their own investigation and find a bit more then they bargained for; but they also find out they are much stronger then they think.
This is a quick, fun read that will have you chuckling at dear eighty year old Millie who is a feisty, no nonsense gal. Edna is a bit timid and treads lightly because her husband is all too present and watching what the ladies are up too. She always manages, however, to speak up and keep her cool when the need arises. Trish is the younger of the three and is always trying to keep Millie in line. That proves to be a full time job in itself. The storyline is quite good even though I don't think this could happen in real life. I am pretty certain these ladies would be nailed for interfering in a police investigation. No matter. They are determined to prove their friend's innocence. If you are up for a quick read with a bit of suspense, I highly recommend this book. I sure hope we will be seeing more from this trio of sleuths in the future.
I wish to thank the author for providing me with a copy of the book to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. I was not compensated in anyway except for receiving the book to review.

I give Classic Revenge 4 out of 5 stars

  1. An eighty year-old in a book? Sounds interesting!

  2. Carrie, she was a feisty old bird!

  3. I love a book with a feisty personality. Sounds like an excellent read to me.

  4. It was Donna. Millie is a real hoot to the story.
