Review of Be Careful What You Wish For

Be Careful What You Wish For
Sibel Hodge
Create Space 2011
ISBN 9781461123941

Former cop, Amber Fox, is asked by her ex-fiance, Brad, to do some investigating into a lost fight with the ex-heavyweight boxing champ. His company insures him and he wants to check into things for the possible claim. Amber starts to unravel some information that some crooks don't want her to know. Bodies start piling up, a bank has safety deposit boxes robbed, Brad Beckett wants Amber back, and Amber is having commitment issues. To top it off, Romeo, Amber's former lover and her have been on the outs because she won't move in with him.
This is the second book in the Amber Fox Mystery Series. The book is witty and down right entertaining. It is an excellent mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. The storyline has many twists and turns; but it still flows smoothly from the beginning till the end. Amber is a former cop who is part tough girl, part sarcastic, and part commitment phoebe. She is a completely likable character and has you in stitches at times. She is obviously head over heels for Brad; but can't seem to let go of the past when he left without telling her and not contacting her. She seems to have blocked out the fact his job forbid him to do so and never let him explain. She wants Brad but can't seem to turn herself over completely. On the other hand, she doesn't want to completely give up Romeo even though she can't give herself completely to him. Now Brad, here is a drop dead gorgeous hunk of a man who is bending over backwards to win her back and shoots the sex meter to the top. Romeo is okay but he doesn't do a whole lot for her. I ask you, is this a no brainer or what? What is her problem?
If you like a good witty mystery, this is the book for you. If you just like a good story to curl up with, this book will fit the bill also. This is my first Sibel Hodge read and it won't be my last.
I wish to thank the author for providing the book for reading and reviewing purposes. I was not required to write a positive review. I was not compensated except to receive the book to review.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars
